More Than The Usual Match Making
These days, anyone can log on to any number of websites to try and find their soul mates. But for those who are devout Hindus, match making is not as simple as finding the person who has the same hobbies on Match.com. Professional match makers are called upon to determine whether potential marriage matches have a promising future. A number of different methods are used to determine this special kind of horoscope matching. You see, they don’t just look over the background of the prospective husband or wife and their families; their birth charts also come into play and usually make more of an impact in the family’s final decision as these can predict whether a match has a promising future or if it will just bring misfortune to both. While this may seem strange and rather foreign for Westerners, this is all just part of the Vedic Astrology that Hindus are following to this day.
This kind of astrology is not the same as the psychic hotlines and fortune tellers that we are accustomed to. Vedic or Jyotish astrology is composed of three parts, they are as follows: Siddhanta, Samhita, and Hora. Siddhanta is one of the auxiliary disciplines associated with the study of the Vedas and is commonly referred to as Indian astronomy. Samhita covers predictions related to pivotal events for countries like natural disasters, political events, financial positions, etc. Lastly, the Hota is predictive astrology that is done in detail. Combining all three allows Hindus to have a system for all of the aspects of their daily lives and provide guidance for making important and life altering decisions.
